I was tempted to get a mac mini to leave in the studio, however they don't seem to have been upgraded for a couple of years, so I'm not sure that would be a long term solution. They suggested I downgrade photoshop, which I did to the 2015 version, and within a day, photoshop complained about the GPU, and disabled it again.ĭoes anyone have any ideas, or am I in the position where I have to upgrade my mac to get me working properly? Upgrading my mac doesn't seem straight forward either. I contacted Adobe, who confirmed that the graphics card - Intel HD Graphics 4000, was no longer supported, which is a bit of a pain, considering the machine is only just over 3 years old. After a few days, I got a warning there was a problem with my display driver, and the GPU had been disabled, which stops functions like perspective warp amongst others from working. I upgraded to photoshop cc 2017, and this worked for a few days, still with the occasional freeze. Things started to go wrong when I upgraded to MacOS Sierra, and I noticed the machine started to freeze a few times during the day, which required a hard reset. I have been using my MBP 13" and thunderbolt monitor for image editing until recently with no problems.
